Qualification rules for candidates:
-- holding a maturity certificate obtained by passing the matriculation examination (the so-called "new matura");
-- holding a maturity certificate obtained by passing the maturity examination (so called "old matura") and a certificate on the results of the maturity examination issued by OKE (Regional Examination Board), including the results of two required subjects (i.e., a modern foreign language and one of the elective subjects):
Required subject | Conversion factor for the level |
modern foreign language – written part | elementary p1 = 0,2 or advanced p1 = 0,4 |
elective subject from the following set: mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics/physics and astronomy, geography, computer science - written part | elementary p2 = 0,3 or advanced p2 = 0,6 |
Wynik końcowy postępowania kwalifikacyjnego (W) obliczany jest zgodnie ze wzorem:
W = p1W1 + p2W2
The result of the qualification procedure (W) is calculated according to the formula:
W = p1W1 + p2W2
where:
W1 – number of points corresponding to the percentage result of the matriculation examination in a modern foreign language (written part),
W2 - number of points corresponding to the percentage result of the matriculation examination in an elective subject (written part),
p1 – conversion factor for the foreign language level.
p2 – conversion factor for the level of the elective subject.
If a candidate has a result for one subject both at the advanced and elementary levels on the matriculation certificate, the result from the level which, multiplied by an appropriate conversion factor, gives a higher value is considered in the qualification procedure.
Qualification rules for candidates:
- holding a maturity certificate obtained by passing the maturity examination (the so called "old matura")
- holding a maturity certificate obtained by passing the maturity examination (the so called "old matura") and a certificate on the results of the maturity examination issued by OKE (Regional Examination Board), including the results of only one required subject:
Required subject | Type of exam | Conversion factor for the “old matura”** | Conversion factor for a candidate with the “old matura” who passed the subject in the formula of the new matura exam at the advanced level *** |
modern foreign language | written partor oral part* | P1 = 0,20P1 = 0,10 | P1 = 0,40 |
elective subject from the following set: mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, computer science | written part orend-of-year grade* |
P2 = 0,30 P2 = 0,15 |
P2 = 0,60 |
* to be chosen by the candidate (end-of-year grade is considered only if the candidate has not taken the subject at the maturity examination);
** the candidate chooses by him/herself the score to be considered for the recruitment calculation and decides whether the score from the maturity examination ("old matura") or the score obtained in the matriculation examination ("new matura") will be considered if the subject was passed according to the formula of the "new matura" at the elementary level;
*** a conversion factor analogous to the advanced level on the “new matura” exam is used when a given subject was taken according to the formula of the “new matura” exam" at the advanced level.
The result of the qualification procedure (W) is calculated according to the formula:
W = p1W1 + p2W2
where:
W1 – number of points in the maturity examination (“old matura”) in modern foreign language (written or oral part) after conversion in accordance with the table below or number of points corresponding to the percentage result of the matriculation examination (“new matura) in modern foreign language (written part) if the candidate took the subject in the “new matura” formula;
W2 – number of points in the maturity examination (“old matura”) in the elective subject (written or oral part) or the end-of-year grade if the candidate has not taken it in the maturity examination (“old matura”), after conversion in accordance with the table below, or number of points corresponding to the percentage result of the matriculation examination (“new matura”) in the elective subject (written part) if the candidate took the subject in the “new matura” formula;
p1 – conversion factor for the written/oral part in modern foreign language,
p2 – conversion factor for the written/oral part/end-of-year grade in the elective subject.

Qualification rules with International Baccalaureate and European Baccalaureate
Candidates who have passed the International Baccalaureate and have achieved the score of at least 37 on the IB diploma shall be awarded maximum points in the major(s) they register excluding medicine, and subject to art. 12.
Candidates who have passed the European Baccalaureate and have achieved an overall score of at least 88 out of 100 points on the EB diploma shall be awarded maximum grades in the major(s) they register excluding medicine, and subject to art. 12.
The admission of candidates with an IB diploma with a score lower than 37, and candidates with an EB diploma with a score lower than 88, as well as candidates with an IB diploma or EB diploma who apply for admission to the faculty of medicine, regardless of the score obtained on the diploma, is based on the admission criteria for persons with the "new matura," subject to art. 12 and in accordance with the table below, where it is assumed that:
- for the International Baccalaureate: the lower level - standard level, hereinafter SL, of the subject passed by the candidate corresponds to the elementary level of the subject passed in the matriculation examination, and the higher level - high level, hereinafter HL - the advanced level;

For the candidates referred to in art. 10-12, taking part in recruitment for the major of Journalism and Social Communication (full-time first-cycle studies) or Theology (full-time uniform master's degree studies), due to the fact that an entrance examination is required as part of the qualification procedure for these majors, the principle is that the score obtained from the European Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate is equivalent to the score from the matriculation examination. The second component of the recruitment result of these majors is the entrance exam score.
The recruitment result of a candidate taking the International Baccalaureate, whose score is below 24 in the examination under the International Baccalaureate program, the passing of which is confirmed by the IB diploma, is 0 points.
The subjects which cannot be taken as part of the matriculation exam by candidates with an IB or EB diploma due to the matriculation curriculum at a given school are determined as equivalents in the table below, with the proviso that in the case of candidates who have not had the opportunity to take Polish language as part of the International Baccalaureate or the European Baccalaureate it is allowed to take into consideration as an equivalent of Polish another A1 language passed by the candidate (in the case of IB Baccalaureate) or L1 or L1+3 language (in the case of EB Baccalaureate), however the same language cannot be taken into account twice when calculating the result of the recruitment procedure:
